The Basics?

Our private campus is located in the foothills of Mt. Hood just 60 minutes east of Portland. Our Parent Company, “Windells” was the first Action Sports camp to earn the American Camping Association accreditation. This distinction is credited to those camps complying with standards set well beyond state and federal organizational guidelines.

We are the ONLY Freeride camp in N America, with now, 80 acres of PRIVATE campus, open ONLY to our campers, staff and invited guests. We are the ONLY camp in N. America that is NOT located in a city. We are surrounded by National Forest and BLM Land.

All 17 and under programs are alcohol, drug, tobacco, violence, bully and swear word free. Our unique closed campus allows for just the right amount of independence, while maintaining the level of safety and supervision you expect. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to write us at info@nwsof.com

Can campers under age 18 leave the main campus?

Not without a camp representative, or written agreement from a legal guardian.

What about Liability Forms and such?

If you are under the age of 18, or are planning to do some photo work, please download our liability forms ahead of time. Ah heck, you might as well download the liability forms regardless of your age. Then you can print it out at home and have them ready when you get here.

Do Minors mix with Adults?

Our coaching groups are separated by ability, interest and age. Our adult groups are usually focusing on different aspects of the sport, so the mixing of the to demographics are limited, if not at all. Most of our adult camps take place during the spring and fall while kids are in school. For the most part, summer camps for kids are held at different times.

Food and Lodging?

Riding and activities aren’t all to look forward to at NWSOF. Every morning a full breakfast buffet starts off the day. Then, fill up your brown bag in lunch line, featuring all your favorite deli items plus healthy snacks baked by Kristy. The dinner and salad bar are all-you-can-eat with always more than enough. Menus change nightly and no effort is spared in cooking for each individual taste, including vegetarian and vegan.

Upgrades to NWSOF lodging are complete and everything added is new — carpet, beds, paint, wood floors and TVs with surround sound. This is camping in style. So stylish in fact, Volcom, Von Zipper, DAKINE and other industry leaders have used the unique setting here to host their national sales meetings.
With no more then 10 campers per cabin there’s plenty of room to stretch out and relax. After a hard day of riding, NWSOF campus is second to none! Sure, it ain’t the Ritz Carlton Whistler, but neither is the price.
